The Cornelian Cherry (Cornus mas) is a popular deciduous tree known for its dense, bushy growth and attractive dark green leaves, which turn shades of yellow and reddish purple in autumn. It produces an abundance of small, bright yellow flowers in late winter and early spring, followed by glossy red, edible berries in late summer. Pruning Cornus mas is best done after flowering to maintain its shape and encourage dense growth. These Cornelian Cherry trees are a superb pleached tree option for screening unwanted views, providing excellent privacy throughout spring, summer and autumn.
