Bull Bay, or Magnolia Grandiflora, is the perfect evergreen tree for screening your garden and house from neighbours or unwanted views. In the Italian nursery, semi-mature trees have been trained to form a neat stem and encouraged to bush out, creating a near-pyramid-shaped bush. These trees are excellent as standalone trees or as a grand hedge. Their evergreen leaves make them ideal for screening unwanted views and providing privacy. The canopies of these trees only require pruning once a year to maintain an agreeable shape and size.

- White flowers in late summer to early autumn

- Glossy green leaves with a brown under leaf

Growing conditions

- Hardiness -10 degrees Celsius (more suited to southern and midland England)

- sheltered 

- Acid or neutral soil (preferably acid)

- Full sun or partial shade  

- Can grow in chalk, sand and clay conditions 

- South, west and east facing
