Cherry laurel is a versatile plant that exhibits rapid growth and can be used effectively as both a hedging plant and for stunning topiary creations. This plant is renowned for its dense, glossy, and evergreen leaves, making it a popular choice for hedging purposes. When using Prunus laurocerasus 'Rotundifolia' as a hedge, it is recommended to employ shears to maintain its desired shape. However, if you intend to showcase it as a specimen shrub, it is advisable to follow the pruning guidelines outlined by the RHS in group nine.

How fast do they grow? English Cherry Laurel exhibits rapid growth. For a well-maintained hedge, we recommend trimming it once a month during the summer months. For topiary purposes, more frequent pruning may be necessary.
